To know Him is to love Him.
We’ve all heard this statement before, but what does it mean to really know Allah SWT?
Our knowing of Him through his divine names and attributes should compel our hearts into submission, love and reverence of Him.
Yet many of us worship and seek Him with superficiality that reflects the incomplete prism of understanding we have of Him.
As a result we neither worship him with due reverence, nor call upon him with due hope.
To know Him, is to love Him.
We were created to worship Allah SWT and the essence of worship is seeking His help.
إِیَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِیَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِینُ
“You alone we worship, you alone we ask for help”
And hence, being created to worship means being born with the very needs that only our Creator can fulfil..
You see, we were created to be forever attached to our Creator. With all our vulnerabilities, imperfections, hopes and fears – we were created to seek His guidance and power when we feel helpless and lost.
We were created to seek Him as the only source of pleasure and the only protection from harm.
We were created to please Him, and derive our value and worth through Him.
To Know Him, is to love Him.
His names are revealed to us as an invitation into His divine pure and abundant nature, so that we find Allah SWT in every challenge and with every blessings.
It’s time to rediscover Allah SWT, and truly get to know Him the way He deserves to be known, because:
To Know Him, is to Love Him.
